After months of effort and dedication, the Olgeta Foundation is proud to share a meaningful milestone. With the support of our valued partners, we have made significant progress in improving healthcare access for the remote and underserved communities of Papua New Guinea (PNG).
The Olgeta Foundation successfully delivered 114 hospital beds, mattresses, essential medical equipment, and school supplies to Port Moresby, PNG. This achievement, made possible by the generosity of the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH) and the Someone Who Cares Foundation, strengthens healthcare infrastructure in some of PNG’s most isolated regions.
This milestone would not have been possible without the support of our partners. We extend our heartfelt thanks to:
• Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, for donating hospital beds and mattresses.
• Someone Who Cares Foundation, for coordinating the shipment of supplies with Swire Group to PNG and contributing medical and school equipment and wheelchairs.
• Theodist LTD, for logistical support in PNG, including the safe storage and transport of hospital beds in Port Moresby.
• Curtains Brothers, for the safe storage of hospital beds in Motukea, Port Moresby.
• Hi-Lift Logistics, for assisting with the import clearance of the containers in Port Moresby.
• The captains of several superyachts, for ensuring the delivery and distribution of these essential supplies.
• A dedicated group of volunteers, whose support has been instrumental.
We are deeply grateful for the efforts of these organizations and individuals.
Transporting these resources from Brisbane to Port Moresby involved significant logistical challenges. Thanks to the commitment of our partners, three containers filled with hospital beds, mattresses, and medical and school supplies were successfully delivered. These resources are now distributed to make a meaningful impact on healthcare delivery in PNG.
Oro Province, one of the major recipients, faces considerable healthcare infrastructure challenges. While some areas are accessible by road, many require sea transport to deliver supplies. We are addressing these challenges with the support of local communities and our partners.
This initiative represents a step toward improving healthcare in PNG’s remote regions. The delivery of these beds and equipment enhances medical facilities and provides hope and better health outcomes for many individuals and families.
As the distribution continues, we aim to ensure these resources reach the communities that need them most. Together, we are making a difference.
We will keep you updated on the progress of this initiative. Your continued support—through donations, partnerships, or sharing our mission—is vital. Together, we can expand access to essential healthcare in PNG.
To everyone who has contributed, thank you! Your generosity is changing lives and building a brighter future for all.
Soon, we will share a few stories of joy and gratitude from the villages receiving these much-needed items.
